The Triennale di Milano is dedicating an exhibit to the famous textile industry in honour of the Centennial of Ermenegildo Zegna, retracing the milestones of this luxury Italian company known throughout the world.

The factory opened in the second half of the 19th century as a textile laboratory thanks to watchmaker Angelo Zegna. When he died, his son Ermenegildo took over the company and began to manufacture fabrics of the highest quality for men’s apparel, importing carefully selected raw materials from Australia and South Africa. Upon the death of Ermenegildo, his sons Angelo and Aldo Zegna took over the business and contributed greatly to the expansion of this luxury men’s trademark throughout the world. This exhibit is split up into four sections: The Mind, The Hand, The Style, The Environment and takes full advantage of a wealth of photographic material, documents, film clips and clothing collections from various historical periods.

The exhibition at Milan’s Palazzo della Ragione is presenting one of the world’s most important young talents of contemporary art: Francesca Woodman. 116 photographs will be on display, 15 of which are exclusive images, and 5 videos retracing the brief yet intense career of the young American artist who took her life at only 22 years of age.
